Mindful moments like this scribble activity are about bringing our awareness into the present moment by consciously focusing on the task at hand. This process is similar to meditation, we let go of any thoughts about the past or the future and bring our focus and awareness toward the present activity.
Whilst scribbling, you want to be mindful of judgements on yourself and your page. There is no right or wrong way to mindfully scribble, it is about self expression.
Ideally you want to find a quiet space with minimal distractions – perhaps have a glass of water or cup of tea nearby and hit play on a few chilled tunes.
Or, if your household is more like mine, keep it simple and scribble whilst the kids are nearby (eating breakfast, colouring in along side you, or watching TV) – life is real, not perfect.
