Pram Friendly Walks In Bayswater

Pram walks are a sanity staple for many Mums.

Getting outside for some gentle movement in the fresh air (& hopefully sunshine) not only provides basic foundational strength and fitness, but also allows for us to deepen our connection with nature, boost our mood, reduce anxiety, increase energy and rejuvenate a tired sleep deprived soul. Whats even better is when we buddy up with a friend and turn a simple pram walk into something even more powerful – connection and friendship.

Nine of my fav pram walks in/near Bayswater

Plus some nearby coffee/food options noted in brackets!

  1. Houghton Park Reserve, Bayswater (Charlies Cafe or Caff on Broadway): A paved path borders this gorgeous tree lined reserve. There is also a playground (sanded) with swing set located near the clubhouse but no public toilets here.
  2. Riverside Gardens, Bayswater (The Oarhouse): A paved path follows the river and loops around the oval. There is also a fully fenced playground with rubber soft fall and shade sails and public toilets nearby. This is a popular park for dog owners and cyclists so beware it can get busy on the paths depending on the day/time you visit.
  3. Crimea Reserve, Morley (Dancing Duck Co): The path doesn’t completely follow around the oval unfortunately but the oval is well maintained so you can push a pram across grass when needed. There is also a playground (sanded and unshaded) and public toilets. Be sure to stop in and say hi to Dee at Dancing Duck. She has a bunch of picnic rugs and kids outdoor toys you can borrow too!
  4. Yokine Regional Open Space, Yokine (Park Coffee Van): Absolutely enormous with shaded paths pretty much the whole way around. Lots of different options depending on how far you want to walk. There is also a great kids play area and coffee van located in the main car park (except Tuesdays).
  5. Hillcrest Reserve, Bayswater (Cosmo Coffee Van): There is a path running all the way around the edge of this reserve. As the name suggests there are hills involved in this walk so it can definitely be a little more challenging on the legs and lungs! There is also a couple of playgrounds and public toilets here. Be sure to duck across the road and say hi to Amos at Cosmo Coffee.
  6. Bardon Park, Maylands (Annies Woodfired Pizza and Injoy Organics): There is a beautiful scenic path with great views of Swan River and Optus stadium. I usually park.start at Maylands Yacht Club, then walk to Banks Reserve and return (~3km round trip). There is also a playground and public toilets at Bardon Park. I recommend double checking the open hours of Annies Woodfired Pizza and Injoy Organics as they are both food vans and aren’t always there.
  7. De Lacy Reserve to Peninsula Farm, Maylands (Peninsula Farm Cafe): This is a 2km round trip walk – further if you opted to walk around De Lacy Reserve first. I’d recommend parking at De Lacy as parking can be pretty busy at Peninsula Farm. There is a playground at De Lacy Reserve and a kids play area at Peninsula Farm Cafe.
  8. Hyde Park, Mt Lawley (Meeting Place Kiosk): Lots of shade on this beautiful walk around the lake feature which is divided into two basins with islands. There is plenty of shade, benches, two playgrounds, a water playground and public toilets here.
  9. Robert Thompson Reserve, Noranda (Espresso Cafe): A large grassy park with paths winding around it. Located opposite the Noranda Village Shopping Centre this lovely park has a playground with equipment to suit most children. There are shade sails up in the warmer months, and there are a few small trees shading parts of the playground.
